TILES To Enter Studio In February
November 28, 2005Detroit-based preogressive rock band TILES have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Work on the new songs is coming along great — so much so that we've penciled in early February to begin recording with Terry Brown. In the meantime, we're recording some demos for Terry so he can hear what we're doing (and not doing...). There's no working title for the CD — and although we have 90+ minutes of songs written we're capping the project at 50 minutes. We also have some 2004 video we're checking out — plus the ROSfest live recordings; in hopes of providing some interesting bonus material. Dare we go on record and plan for a September '06 release?"
As previously reported, TILES recently announced the return of original drummer Mark Evans. Evans was a founding member of TILES and appears on the band’s first three releases, "Tiles" (1994),"Fence the Clear" (1997),and "Presents of Mind" (1999).
TILES' fourth album, "Window Dressing", was released in 2004 on InsideOut Music worldwide and was produced by Brown, who is noted for his success with RUSH, CUTTING CREW, FATES WARNING, VOIVOD and ALANNAH MYLES. TILES' previous three CDs were reissued in 2004 and feature a variety of previously unreleased songs, demos, and bootleg video; expanded packaging, photos, and liner notes; and newly mastered audio from the original tapes.
